Houghton continues to maintain Global supply agreement with world’s largest drilling rig fleet operator.

Houghton Offshore is the preferred fluid supplier to the worlds largest offshore drilling rig operator. Transocean who operates over 140 drilling rigs consisting of Drill ships, semi submersibles and jack-up rigs have entered into a global supply agreement with Houghton Offshore to supply Stack-Magic BOP fluids, Aqualink subsea Control fluids, Houghto-Safe Compensator Tensioner fluids and other ancillary products used for equipment preservation , systems flushing operations and systems cleaning and sterilisation procedures.

The contract was awarded to Houghton following a market review of other suppliers.

Transocean selected Houghton Offshore as its world wide supplier of BOP and Compensator fluids based on a long industry established track record of providing functional reliable products operating in safety critical equipment. Houghton Offshore also provided Transocean with answers to the global logistics of continued supply by utilising the Houghton International group of companies providing production facilities in most of the industrialised countries manufacturing quality products to global formulations.

Houghton Offshore environmental policy is second to none and our products comply and meet the highest environmental regulations complementing the stringent Transocean environmental policy that has been introduced to preserve and protect aquatic marine life.

The global supply contract now includes GlobalSanta-Fe rigs. The transition of incorporating these rigs into the Transocean fleet was a relatively seamless operation as Santa-Fe rigs have been operating with Houghton fluids for over 25 years. Houghton Offshore is now the primary supplier of BOP and Compensator fluids to some of the major global exploration drilling companies.

Houghton Offshore provide a global customers service, including fluid sampling analysis, technical and environmental support and a computer based Houghto-Trend rig fluid care programme, that can be used to monitor global fleet maintenance and fluid care activities. Houghton Offshore is well positioned to continue delivering quality, value and environmentally acceptable products to the entire drilling Industry.

Houghton Offshore products are now being applied to new rig builds with confidence that Houghton products meet or exceed requirements for warranty by (OEM’s) Original Equipment Manufacturers providing a seamless transfer from new build to operation.
